File limits & retention

Limit	Details
File type	One PDF or Word (.docx) file per review. ZIP archives and multiple sources are not supported by the API.
File size	Up to 20 MiB using the upload flow.
Material	K–12 material containing questions or student tasks. A source without learner work ends without a score or review card.
Task count	Up to 250 learner tasks per source. Split larger materials into independently reviewable sections; their scores are not automatically combined.
Original files	Private and temporary, scheduled for deletion after processing once upload permissions end. Unfinished uploads are scheduled for deletion within 24 hours. Keep your own originals.
Reports	Retained according to your organization's policy. With `retainReport=false`, retrieve the result within 24 hours of completion. Delete it earlier with the review deletion endpoint.
